About Us

Hi! We’re Liz and Mike Eskola. We have been working together in Manufacturing and in Life since early 2000. Ebin Engineering is our exploration in the business world, as well as an adventure that we can take into retirement.

A project-project, if you will.

Our goal is to help people develop their ideas into products and parts without the high cost of going through a large business. How do we offer such low costs?

Super-low overhead.

Ebin Engineering is simple: Just us, our brains, some software, and decades of experience.

We specialize in creating things that don’t already exist for pretty much any application. We have designed and made custom parts for Prototypes, Automotive, Outdoors, Sports, Arts, Aerospace, Military, Home and Garden, and so much more!

Mike has worked as a Machinist and Business Owner in the Spokane Area since the early 1990’s, after beginning his career in Western Washington State in the late 1980’s. When Mike isn’t making parts or finding solutions, he loves Snowboarding and playing Disc Golf. He can be found most weekends of the winter riding the Mountain slopes with his Friends and Family.

Liz began her journey in Manufacturing in the early 2000’s with a Protoyping company where she met Mike. She has completed multiple degrees at Spokane Community College, including: an AA in Auto Collision and Repair, an AA in CNC Machine Shop Technology, and a Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. Additionally, Liz completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Eastern Washington University in 2015 after working as a Machinist in the Spokane Area for many years. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and playing guitar as well.

Who is Ebin?

Simply put, Ebin was the goodest boy in the Universe.

He was an abandoned Puppy, who became a rescue Dog that turned out to be the most amazing Shop Dog, Mountain Dog, and Garden Guard we’ve ever known. Not only was he incredibly smart and protective, but he was also a big teddy bear who loved his immediate and extended Family fiercely. His pack.

As things go sometimes, his arrival in our lives was perfectly timed. We were in the middle of discussing adopting a pound-puppy when Mom called to let us know her Coworker’s Daughter found an abandoned Labrador mix under a bus stop bench. This was mid-December in Spokane, and she didn’t have the heart to leave him in the cold and snowy weather.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep him and wanted to ask around before turning him into a local shelter. Mom’s call was like fate happening. Perfect timing.

We went to check out this puppy without very high hopes and ended up falling in love at first sight. He was absolutely perfect. He walked right up to us like he knew us and was ready to go!

He grew up to be loved by many, and a dog of many skills. He could even jump through a hoop! So smart, and so stubborn. So fierce, but so loving. He knew his whole pack of people and dogs by name and knew when they arrived even before they got to the door. A barking fool who eventually lost his voice in his final months, to no surprise lol. Such a vocal Dog that he would even “woo-woo” like he was trying to speak like a human.

He lived a long and exciting life, and almost made it to 15 human-years old. In fact, he out-lived all of his dog-friends! Unfortunately, we lost him to a systemic infection in August of 2023. This business venture and website is in honor of him, his life, and the love that we still carry for Ebin even though he is no longer with us.
